Write off
That's what I'm doing to this day, in terms of blogging: writing it off.
I'm on deadline, trying to finish an article for tomorrow's paper, so I don't have any wit or wisdom to offer.
I can give you my most recent, Q&A column. Some of you know that Unbuttoned with James Burnett runs Mondays in the Miami Herald. I find personalities - some famous, some not, all quirky - around South Florida, and I grill 'em. Anyway, here is the one from this Monday.
Enjoy. I'll try to do a regular post this evening.

I rode the bull once. I didn't undress though. I think I need more alcohol for that.

I thought for sure you'd have something about the Jenna Six "movement."
If the movement were successful, I wonder what kind of statue would appear on the Mall 50 years from now. Six guys beating another ethnically/racially different guy? I wonder what kind of materials they would use. Would there also be a fountain?
Hmmm....

Look after yourself, take a deep breath and the words will spill out through your finger tips :)

Oh, James Burnett, my timing is impeccible. That word always makes me think of "peccadilos" but I don't know what that one means.
Anyhoo, thanks for dropping in--I have missed you dearly, along with mental clarity and the raspberry-strawberry Skittles that they stopped making for no good reason.
I'll be around soon.

Great interview...I just have a lingering question: I wonder if good bull riders make better lovers?
I guess I got distracted with all that talk about the more "risque" riders...
And as a sidenote? There's a lot of peer pressure involved in the ladies' room. If you leave the stall and don't at least PRETEND to approach the sink and do a hand-wash - you are looked upon with disdain by other ladies. Looks that say, "OMG...and can you believe she is allowed to raise CHILDREN with those hands?"

Never let it be said that blogging is not educational! Well, for me it is anyway. Look what I've learned from reading your post here today. I never knew there were special jobs for people to "tend the mechanical bull." Amazing! It was a darned interesting piece, James. (And thanks for stopping by my blog the other day too and your comments. 'Preciate that!

ahhh, deadlines. I used to imagine that I laughed at them. Then someone went and tied my paycheck a time schedule...
