Animal update
I hate sappy posts of puppies and kittens and butterflies, but considering I have gone from a cat hater to a cat-getter-along-with kind of guy, I figured I'd post this pic of our cat's progress. If you were reading this blog four months ago then you saw pictures of Andy when we brought her home at 8 weeks from the animal shelter.
Here's Andy nearly grown:

James,
She is very pretty! Looks like she's got a little Maine Coon in there with that glorious fluffy tail

As a cat owner for nearly a quarter century, let me tell you there is no shame in a man enjoying the company of cats. They'll sleep with you EVERY night and will not demand jewelry afterwards.

Very funny, Yasamin. See that's why I didn't want to admit to getting along with the cat.
And Sarc, you're right. The only thing the cat asks is the occasional ounce of flesh, which she takes in the form of a good scratching.
Dogncatmom, we too wondered if she had a little Maine Coon in her, 'cause that tail is insanely puffy.

lol dude there is nothing cutesy about my 2 cats. they fool everyone. they act all cuddly and sweet and dont let anyone know that they tore up our leather sofas, tore up the carpet, fight all the time, wrestle, scream at each other, tear up the blindes and knock them off the rack by crashing into them racing through the house, spilling their food everywhere, kicking their own poo outta the litter box, climb the shower curtain... goddamn cats.
freaking satan's spawn im telling you.

I think you're safe on calling her a Maine Coon mix. I'm owned by three of them (all show cats) and she could easily fall in with my gang...

You totally look like you like that filthy animal!

There's no shame in a man appreciating company of the feline persuasion. Unless, of course, he ends up with six or more of them. That's just wrong.
And if you'll excuse me, I need to go hang my head for a while.

I admit it Matt. I'm a reformed cat hater. I do like the beast.

I think the cat is beautiful, but my husband (who is watching over my shoulder) says you need to turn in your man card.
(I say it's ok to be a cat-getter-alonger)
