Christmas shmistmas

The spirit of Christmas is alive and well, but this has led me to conclude that hip-hop is dead.

It's fuzzy, I know. But if your ears are even a smidgen better than mine you'll hear why I'm fully switching my CD case to jazz and classical.

And BTW, bah humbug!

  • Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooo! Do you have favorite lines from hip-hop songs? I have a couple of favorite bad ones:

"Easy love is something that I ain't/besides, I don't know you from a can of paint" - Queen Latifah

"Sit right here/whisper in my ear/caress my chest/and say something smoove" - LL Cool J

    and favorite good ones:

"you don't like me/but don't even know why you should hate me" - Roots

"beats that are hard/beats that are funky/beats'll get you hooked like a crackhead junkie" - QTip/ATCQ

    "I'm not saying I'm number one/oh, I'm sorry, I lied/ I'm number one, two, three, four AND five" - KRS1

    Sigh. Good times, good times.

  • BC I have to think about my favorites and least favorites.

I always have to pay homage to Biggie. If I remember right, "Honey's play me close, like butter plays toast."

That was the dillusional line my guys and I actually believed about ourselves in college.

Of course, at the end of the night we all ended up back in our apartment, sans women, eating the same microwave pizza and doing shots of tequila and talking about how cool we were. That cracks me up to think about it.
