Hip-hop is Dead

I can't even explain it. Let's just say I hope Jodie Foster has a movie coming out soon. Too much idle time. Just click the link and watch the video of her giving the commencement speech recently at the University of Pennsylvania, and when it's over if you're a fan of the any form of rap tell me this video doesn't leave you just a little squeamish and depressed:

  • Eminem is the only cracker who should try to rap. Jodie can't even get out of that little closet.

  • I'm not sure what's more amazing: that she quoted Eminem at a commencement address or that the kids actually cheered.

  • I hear ya gentlemen. Og, I agree, Slim Shady is a talented guy. He may get married and divorced as much as Liz Taylor, but he has skills. I saw a Fat Shady trying to imitate him on my block the other day and it put me in pain to hear the style butchered so.

And Rick, I'm with you too. These kids just earned college degrees. Why in the H. are they cheering movie soundtrack lyrics. I'd have booed and demanded to hear somethign original and substantive at my commencement. After four or five years in school and 10 years worth of student loans, I'd want to hear something deeper.

And hey, do neither of you guys have a contribution to the Weekly Behavior Awards?

BTW, Rick, I knew that was you on the bike.;) Kidding.

  • Oh boy. Oh my. All of a sudden Jodie Foster has become my mother. Yep, moms quotes Marshall occasionally. But at least she sees the irony.

  • When I heard her I puked in my mouth a little bit. Shit like that is probably the reason Chapelle ran to Africa and got high all day.
